As the @handsoffnyc Hands Off Faith Table takes our gatherings borough by borough, we are lifting up the leadership of local faith communities working to protect their neighbors amid escalating federal immigration actions. Join us in Staten Island — often called the “Forgotten Borough” — to hear strategies from leaders organizing on the ground, how they collaborate with directly impacted communities, and what lessons can strengthen all of our work.
Information about Know Your Rights trainings and other immigration resources from local faith-based and community organizations will be available. Faith leaders from all boroughs are encouraged to attend, and Staten Island leaders seeking to deepen their engagement are especially encouraged to join us.
Following the meeting, a halal dinner will be served for all. Space will be available for Muslims to pray before breaking their fast.
