what is this?

actions.nyc is an attempt at a visual protest calendar that is 1) maintained by community groups rather than a few individuals; 2) built on open-source & free from google, wordpress, amazon, & meta; & 3) can be followed many ways, including via RSS + fediverse––though the easiest is to save the site as an icon on your phone homescreen.

site made with gancio with help from the counterforce.
local sibling cals include red calendar & nyc noise.
as of february '26, we're still figuring out how we'll be using the space; more soon!

this site branched off from Protest.one / NYC Protest Updates / PRO_NYC, a protest calendar & journalism team that was founded in May 2020 & active through 2025, with reporting on @protest_nyc in the days of twitter (RIP).
